ClassesĬurrently classes are at the following locations: The Kuchipudi Dance style strictly follows the ancient dance form which traces its roots to the Natya Shastra, which was later modernized and systematized by Siddhendra Yogi.

The basic underlying structure is: statementgapstatementgapstatement. It’s a rhythmic, cadential phrase that can span just a few beats or be a long and complex structure that is part of the percussion solo or tani avartanam. This is the art of maintaining the beat using cymbals and also reciting the musical syllables during a dance performance. The mora is a rhythmic structure in South Indian or Carnatic music. Interested students also learn the Nattuvangam. The gurukula tradition of teaching helps students build confidence while preparing them to be better citizens and future leaders. They are also actively encouraged to participate in cultural and charitable events. Students learn in a strict curriculum structure. PADAM is a prominent Kuchipudi dance school in the New England area. For students outside of the New England area, remote classes are conducted via Skype. Students from ages 3 years through 65 years have enjoyed learning here.
